Had dinner there--fantastically satisfying, great atmosphere, great wine, knowledgable staff. Sent my parents there as a Christmas gift, they raved about it. Been there for happy hour, didn't spend a fortune and left satisfied. The sliders are to die for, also had a goat cheese and something roll that was decadent and rich and savory. And the fries! My happy hour margarita also hit the spot. I never felt like I was getting the up-down-eye there (unlike at Blueplate across the way) and the people watching was great, awesome mix (like Mr. Nice said).
Cannot recommend it enough.
I work here. That said, I can't stand the Pearl. $$$ does NOT equal class. Sorry yuppies. Most restaurants in this hood cater to assholes (think Christian Bale in "American Psycho") but this one goes out of its way to prove you can have a bomb meal without spending 1/4 of your rent in the process. What impresses me is that everyones here: dudes in hooded sweatshirts and dressed-to-the-nines attorney/wheeler-and-dealer types. Also, the waitstaff won't look down on you which I've always found annoying elsewhere considering most waiters live in shitty studios or with 8 roommates. A great date spot.
The happy hour menu is obviously made by alcoholics for alcoholics. Lots of bar food with an odd touch of class. Looking at their menu they appear to be classing-up what would normally be considered white trash. House-made ho-hos that will curl your toes. Roscoe sliders (that's chicken on a waffle for non-ATL folks) and pulled-pork sliders are a drinkers jackpot. Bar is classy with NO Monarch wells...all good stuff. Also serves authentic Chartreuse and Absinthe for those who really want their heads peeled back. Located in the Pearl but not all stuffy/pretentious.
