For fans of industrial chic, life is good at Ninth Ave. Located in the warehouse no-man's land between Hawthorne and Morrison in inner Southeast, this modest brewpub is home to Yamhill Brewing, a woefully overlooked local beer concern. Man-behind-the bar Tim Glenn is an ace brewer and even though his on-tap menu varies, pretty much all his offerings are dynamite, particularly the house IPA and mysterious "Brewer's Blend." Live music in the adjoining warehouse space most nights and bands actually sound quite good in it. Here's a spot that cries out for homeless hipsters and wayward beer snobs.
