You're always guaranteed to find someone to talk to at this friendly, low-key bar, be it a tattooed bike messenger, a construction worker from Ireland, or a drunk metal chick complaining about her goddamn boyfriend. Straddles hip and dive just beautifully, featuring a variety of low priced beers and free pool. Sidewalk seating.

Happy Hour whaaat?

Just checked in with the friendly staff over here, and they informed me they no longer have happy hours. What they do have is 2 select $2.50 micros per day, all day.

Angelo's i s a-ok wif me - the current staff of brad, christopher, kiki and faith are all super rad - seems to be a bit busier in the day lately which is fine by me - them older folks warm up the video poker for me to come in later! Lots o beers and you just can't beat free foosball!

don't get it

i want to be appreciative of all sorts of places, but I don't get angelo's. Kind'a creepy, freankly. Tried it a few times and, well, felt scared by the clientele. And i live part time on the coast, where weirdo dive bars are the norm. Couldn't imagine having a conversation w. anyone here. But I also hate beer and lowbrow wine spots....so guess I was simply out of place. Gimme Sokol-blosser over boxed wine any day.

What can you say about a man who refers to himself as the the "Mexiamish skinhead"due to his skin bald dome,latino flava,and a beard that would make Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top proud.This bar rocks for the local prefunk in this barmuda dive.Killer jukebox,tables outside yr. round,cheap pints and that damn John's the shit....As he would say.."Rock on w/ your cock on,then rock out w/ your cock out."I love this joint..

In additon to being one of the best little unassuming bars ever, Angelo's is the cheapest place to get a pint of Stella Artios in Portland, period.

Cheap-o!

The official review doesn't give this place justice on how cheap it is. $1.50 PBR all the time. $4 PBR pitchers and there are at least a couple micros for $2 all the time (rotating specials)...oh, and free foosball!! First came to Angelo's 4 years ago and can't rip myself away from the vortex!

Bikers of Portland

I met some good mtn. bike/bmx/rodie contacts here. I'm new to the area so I'm still trying to tap into that scene - I found this was a good place to start. Just beware of the grass gnomes.
