BarFly's Review of Basil Bar

The signature cocktails - Thai Me Down blends Thai iced tea and Maker's Mark - don't really tell the story. It's a cozy spot right below Sweet Basil, with an excellent happy hour menu and comfortable seating and large screen TV, where sated locals battle slumber. Full menu served till 1am Thurs-Sat. $2-4 menu 4:30-6:30pm Mon-Sat, and 4:30-close Sundays. Tuesdays: Ladies' night (free appetizers!). Open 4:30-11pm Sun-Wed, 4:30pm-1:00am Thurs-Sat.

Happy Hours

  • Monday - $3 Margs, $2-4.50 menu 4:30-6:30pm
  • Tuesday - $2-4 menu 4:30-6:30pm - free apps for the ladies all night

Not to bad
I dont know I Thought that it was pretty decent. If you like spicy food, this may not be the place for you.... well nothing i ordered was spicy, but otherwise tasty. Drink specials are good. I would do it for happy hour again.

Incredible Food
The first time I went was amazing. It was busy yet quiet. The large screen TV showed the Olymics with great music. The food was really very good. The second time was good too, great atmosphere! great food, Great service.

The third time was not so good. I was the only one there. The TV was blaring LOUD. and the service was barely there at all.

I will keep trying because I crave the food. If the audio atmosphere could only match the physical atmosphere I would be a regular.

Basil is always closed
EdellaOkay. That bar is never open when I try to go there. The restaurant sucked, had the worst vegetarian options of any Thai place I have ever been. Then they put everyone right next to each other in the cramped tables when there was room elsewhere. I got to eat my rice listening to 4 fat ladies talk about their stupid boss. GRrrrrr.
And as for the bar, I can't speak of it IT IS ALWAYS closed!

:)
