BarFly's Review of Candle Light
Naugahyde booths, a fab old juke, drinks that start at $2.50 and burn a hole through your socks... this is my kind of place. Plus, there's an all important, designated "Liar's Corner" at the bar. Karaoke Friday & Saturday nights, no cover. Chinese menu served late night.
Hour Glass Pub
I live down the road and for the first time ever ordered some food from this place tonight and no disrespect to the cook but the food is DISGUSTING! I ordered the $5.50 Sweet N Sour Pork, Rice & Shrimp with a side of crab puffs. The 5-6 pieces of pork I had were swimming in the sweet n sour sauce. It was so soggy that I couldn't bring myself to eat more then a piece. The rice was tasteless and greasy as well. The crab puffs were also greasy with next to no crab filling in them. Last but no least the shrimp was the worst part because it looked like the shrimp pieces were not even clean. You certainly get what you pay for here. Next time I will spend the extra $7.00 and go to the Ambassador on Sandy blvd.
when the candle was open the candle was change a size and heat temperature. In the side of candle are have a blue color above in the color orange
The Karaoke host "Gemini" is super friendly and sexy. There's 80,000 songs+ to choose from. Not bad sound system. The bartender Eric is a hottie and friendly. Thursday nights are the best nights to go if you like to sing a lot, but if you like a crowd, go Saturday or Friday. Just GO!! And, yes, there is karaoke on Thursday. The review in here is wrong about the days.
Excellent 5.50 combos that *don't* include a heaping pile of slimy chow mein (my favorite is General Chicken and BBQ Pork with Fried Rice - YUMM!), rice that is *all* the way cooked (not a hard crunchy kernel in the batch) and you can eat for 2 days off of it because the portions are HUGE. Very tasty egg rolls too - really cheap - the breading on them is really ummm "fluffy"? I am trying to find the word... kind of like the difference between frozen onion rings in a bag and *real* hand battered rings in a restaurant. Highly recommended if you are looking for cheap yummy chinese late (or anytime)... they serve food until 2am on weekends!
