BarFly's Review of Carafe
PDX meets Paris in this airy bistro owned by oft-lauded chef Pascal Sauton. Friendly, knowledgeable service, sans any Parisian ’tude, will guide you through a thoughtful, moderately priced, menu showcasing the best locally-grown meats and produce, ã la française. Diverse clientele mixes young and old (and varies per event at the neighboring Keller Auditorium). Nice sidewalk seating, weather permitting.

We eat there often, and tho' I haven't hit Happy Hour (but will now that I know about it) I feel it deserves its reputation as one of Portland's finest. We travel from the Corvallis area to dine there.
Carafe is an excellent place to just hang out. You can even sit with your dog outside and drink carafe after carafe of inexpensive and good wine. Cheap and good eats too! I love this place!
I have found a place that will be my favorite. Food to die for, I cannot stop thinking about the great meal--and drinks that were lush! Yummy coctails, great wine, no attitude, this is just a great place to be. I think that you will be surprised by your visit to Carafe--and pleasantly so.
