BarFly's Review of Dragonfish
Attractive shinto-industrial space, with the requisite exposed beams and rock garden. Great people watching through the floor-to-ceiling windows.
Attractive, amusing staff provide good company and top service, and bear-up well under the strain of an "inspirational" corporate mantra ("Passion! Fire in the heart!" complete with preposterous fist to chest gesticulation). But who gives a crap about that stuff, when there's delicious cheap sushi to be had!
Two separate rooms flank the lobby of the Paramount Hotel: one side is all ages dining with additional 8 person private room, the other side is 21+ only lounge. Additional deals and coupons can few found on dragonfishcafe.com

Overpriced, small portions. Horrible sushi, though it was educational because I never knew that tuna could have gristle. Happy hour fried chicken dish was overfried. Chicken for the chicken salad bowl was grey.
Now the restaurant side is open during Happy Hour and is non-smoking! Yay! I can't wait until Portland switches over in Jan, but until then, expect to find me enjoying my happy hour on the dining room side!!
Well, the prices have gone up, significantly, but the portion sizes have not, and neither has the quality of the rolls. Not much of a deal, unfortunately. Went to the early happy hour, so it was understandably quiet.
We went last night durin happy hour, it was super busy and we got like the last table. We were expecting to probably get bad service. To our surprise we were greeted right away and had drinks before we knew it. Sushi wasn't bad either. Just a little of the annoying table stalking you might see at the Portland City Grill when people slowly walk around seeing if you might be leaving soon. I hate it when they ask. Leave us alone and f off!
It gots the atmosphere the drinks the service and the friends that enhabit the outter edges of the fun side of the non food of the duality of this establishment have shown me the fun of the devil fish.. fun can be had..and had had...CHEERS TO THE MULLET and look out for the fusion.. NOT a "local" bar but a great place to visit and chat with the fun ... staff .. YEAH
