BarFly's Review of Francis Xavier's

New hotel bar with an attractive neo-craftsman interior, reminiscent of an old-fashioned train station restaurant. Cozy couch/fireplace seating area. Closes early.

There are no free appetizers at this time. There is a 50% off bar menu during happy hour which brings the $7.99 price down to $3.50 per app. Burger and fries counts as one appetizer. The Calamari, Onion Rings and the Cheese Quesadilla are good too. Add a small salad for a buck fifty and you have a dinner. Purchase of a beverage gets you into the discounted menu items. Nonalcoholic beverages can count as a drink.

Xavier's Excellent

We use Xavier's on an ongoing basis for last minute business meetings. They have a very good menu with both variety and reasonable prices and the atmosphere is always professional. They always bend over backwards to accomodate us and we've never had a bad meal. Highly recommended to all.

Manager

When I went in there on january 14th with my wife and 2 kids age 3 and 5 I thought it was convienent to have the color paper and crayons, the food was ok. I like how the managers come around and make sure all the food was prepaired the right way. I thought that the asian manager was kinda rude to his employers.

Food & service

Ordered the "signature" chicken tortilla soup. Came cold. Sent it back. Was nearly hot. No arguement from waitress. Nothing special. Would go again as its in a convenient spot.

Francis Xavier Dinner

I took 3 guests to Francis Xavier's restaurant on 181st in NE Portland about 2 weeks ago. By far, it was the best experience I have had in a restaurant in several years. The food was fantastic, and the service was outstanding. I had the southwest chicken breast, tender and juicy, fresh broccoli, cooked perfect, and a baked potato. The other orders were a steak, and meatloaf dinners, and a cheesberger. A dinner salad was included with the dinners and they were fresh and crisp. We were all very glad we had chosen Francis Xavier. I was especially happy since I was the host. I wanted my guests to have a nice experience. We will recommend it to anyone looking for a first class meal and service. I have already mentioned it to several of my family and friends.
