BarFly's Review of Gemini Pub
Really the only proper bar in Lake O, with a local draw of friendly, mostly younger folks and the occasional monied types on the slum. Re-modeled a few years back, ceilings raised, fire place alight. Outdoor seating. Pool x3, sports on multiple screens. 24 beers on tap.
If you have to drink in Lake Oswego, it's pretty much the only place to bother with.
Sun. - Rockband + you call shots w/ 10 oz. beer back, $4 bloodies.
Tue. - Texas Hold'em
Wed-Sat: Live music
Thurs: Pool tournament and trivia

Firehouse Pub
I am disabled and walk very poorly. I can call Gemini and put in a food order and THEY ACTUALLY BRING it to me out the back door. I AM SO GRATEFUL!
Dude. This place was kickin' at one time. It was a premier place for real musicians to kick back and relax after a gig. I know I was there. Now they have one of the worst sound systems in PDX. Why the fall from grace??? Why can't they fix it??? You would think the draw they had they would fix it so they could have they glory once again.
Went there to hear a friends band play (sound was great, not too loud, not too distorted). Maybe it's my idea of Lake O being classy, but I was very disappointed to learn there was no cider available. I do not drink beer and have to be in a certain mood to drink liquor. But. Thought, ok I'll order a drink...I asked the waitress (who was very friendly) what types of Absolute vodkas they carried. She replied "oh lots! You name it!" so I asked fir a pear vodka-didnt have it. I asked for Asian Pear-didn't have it. I asked for Acai-didn't have it. See a pattern? To me, this does not mean there are "lots" of choices. Crowd was a bit mixed; interesting people watching. Don't think I'll go back though.
This place is the best spot in the LO/West Linn area to grab a beer and food. All the bartenders are super nice and always recommend something yummy to eat. Way stronger drinks that most bars since they aren't corporate. Lots of pool tables, t.v.'s and great specials during the week. There is always something going on here and I love it! Poker, trivia, bands -it's super relaxed and my girlfriends and I always have fun. Kind of a pain to drive out after a couple drinks since cops are always swarming, but we just cab it home usually.
The place looks nice and has a multiple area setup. Many many many TVs. Sound system is blown, speakers crackle constantly. If it is a moderately busy night orders will take about 10min to get...or more. Some of the staff is really nice, others are a bit prudish (fake smiles, annoyed to help you, hung over?). Has 3 Pool tables that aren't maintained but are there (very nice house cues though). $10 Pitcher/Domestic. Very pricey overall. It is a very nice looking place but seems faux. If a bit of money was put into the sound/pool tables/ other things, it would be a very nice place. For the money of the food and drinks I at least expect non cracking speakers. Great crowd and Food.
I have ordered numerous drinks from them being a neighbor and yet to have even one drink that was good. One time I said please take it back and give me something else and they refused. Although sometimes a waitress is trying to please with a smile and friendly conversation.
The G-Spot in L.O. is great! It was remodeled last year and looks amazing!! It's a great place to hang with friends, watch sports, play pool etc. The staff is friendly...not to mention easy on the eyes!! Plus, they poor good drinks! It's definitely where I'll be dropping my $$!! 2 thumbs up! Way up!!
I do not know when the change happened but this place was recently upgraded, no more smoking, nicer LCD's instead of the clunky projection screen. Way nicer, with a way nicer crowd now. Before I would not step in here because of the smoke and general icky feeling it had. Now it is pretty fancy.
Just an average "joint" in my opinion. Bar bar bar, nothing unique except the stupid looking scooters on the ceiling. (trying to pull a Kelly's Olympian I think) The bartender smelled like marijuana, I mean BIGTIME! And acted stoned. Decent beer selection, didn't eat so I can't speak one way or the other of the food, but the Martini sucked so I would order beer for sure!
The Gemini was the first bar that I ever got into. At the time it was called the Open Seas and it was a nice dump. The Gemini is a good spot to grab a beer and a game. Food is o.k., pub grub.
The Gemini is awesome! It is where I had my first legal beer. The waitreses are so great, and the owner, Shawn, is just fine!
The Gemini is sort of a local landmark down on Hwy 43 (State st). The owner, Shawn is a cool guy that carries a great selection of alcohol and their food is realy good. Nothing to write home about as far as atmosphere, but they have live music sometimes and there's lots of sports on big screen TVs and pool tables, etc. Relaxed and fun.
