BarFly's Review of Hall Street Bar & Grill
Hammered metal short bar manned by personable servers. Comfortable banquet-lined conversation/smoking area to side. A good place to go if you're in the Beav and don't want to go to Chevy's or Outback. Seating in pretty garden out back.$2.95 menu & $3 selected drinks 3-6 & 9-close (early).| Hall Street Bar & Grill's Happy Hours | |

It closes early and that's a bummer but with happy hour seven days a week you can't lose. Really good food at decent prices and there are drink specials. The atmosphere is nice and dark, great for conversation or a first date. It can get busy so plan ahead but you won't be disappointed.
I do not know why but the lunches are much better then the dinners? My girlfriend and I try to eat at Hall St. every Tuesday and both really like the place. If you do not like fish cooked rare make sure you tell the waiter. We always eat in the bar area and like the lunch time bartender. HS can be expensive so I do recommend you use a ‘Passport’ or ‘Vault’ card. If possible make sure you get the Passport Card from an old girlfriend before you dump her-that way you can smile every time you buy an expensive and delicious lunch for the newer and younger model at Hall St.!
My wife and I went there on a Friday night for a cocktail and dinner. We are recent transplants and one of our neighbors recommended it.
The bar was terrific. We both had a very nice Martini that night but we noticed a great selection of Scotches and wines by the glass.
For dinner we had Scallops and Salmon. Both dishes were prepared perfectly (and I am an admitted Salmon Snob). The waiter was very helpful and steered us to a moderately priced Pinot Gris that was a great pairing. Over all cost was $100 with tip and well worth it.
We will definitely return.
I just finished eating at restuarant and I must say... It was awful! The service sucked, the hostess found it more important to talk with co- workers rather than seat, our server was so cocky he didn't pull out his pen & paper to take our drink order and screwed that up. And most importantly the food was disgusting. My husband who could just about eat anything, started to gag. We had the fettucini Alfredo, noodles were under cooked and the sauce tasted like canned sauce and clammy, and the pasta primavera all I can say is GROSS! Worst of all, my mother in law told two seperate emlployees that it was my sister in laws b day and they never did a thing, but served two tables around us bday dessert. Over priced and not reccommended!
I work out here in the Tron and Hall St. is the best deal in town. Happy hour is ALL DAY on Sunday with kick-ass drink and food specials. Great wine list and menu if you want a fancy-ish meal too.
This place is great on two different levels. One, it has a great bar. Two, it has a great resturaunt.
The atmosphere is laid back and upscale, comfy recliners and booths in the bar frequently mostly by preps and middle aged people. The bartender is very skilled and will make anything you can think up plus the appetizers are tasty as all hell (Can you say coconut battered fried shrimp ? Mmmm!) and cheap to boot as long as you are in the bar. Especially if you go in during happy hour when the drinks are dirt cheap (something like half price) and you can get a HUGE restaurant burger and fries for under $5!
The main restaurant is off to the left and is very classy, a great place to go out for a date. The food is very good and the service outstanding but it's definitely a bit spendy.
A great place all around and it's nice that the bar accommodates people without a huge wad of cash in their pocket while still managing to run a classy operation. You might feel out of place if you're not dressed well (like a ripped T-shirt and ripped jeans) but i'm sure they would still serve you. Thats the only downside I could see.
