Ibiza truly sucked, and after the police raid on the place (apparently for bank fraud--we watched the cops carry sacks of evidence to the van from our office window) the place quickly went into a death spiral. Over the next few weeks, it was fun to watch the liens for rent, utilities, kitchen equipment and club gear pile up on the locked front doors.
In late April an application for a liquor license went up in the window. Look soon for "Club 915" (how original.)
They got shut the fuck down. Just what Portland needs, more unemployed bartenders. Avoid applying to any CEG bar. They are strictly last resort.
I was very excited to go to happy hour at Ibiza last night (Wed) with a few friends. The website and menu both looked fantastic; however, we were in for a rude awakening. NOTHING on the menu came out as it was described on the menu. I don't know if it was because it was a Wednesday and they had the bad chef working or were out of ingredients or what, but this was by far the WORST food I have EVER had...and I have traveled a lot. The ingredients were totally different, or not there at all, and most of the time was only luke-warm. It almost seemed like everything was pre-made and then warmed up. The waitress kept saying "oh, the menu is wrong". Well...then print new menus! Wouldn't have mattered though, food still sucked. Nice enough atmosphere, but could be much better. Didn't quite carry it out to completion. And it is nothing like Vegas like they say. I guess others have caught on...we were there from 5-9 and there were only 2 other couples that came in. Give it 0 stars! Gross...very disappointing.
This is the first time i've been to your website, it just might become my new favorite! unfortunately i was looking for a review of ibiza, which hasn't been done. oh well, i'm still impressed;) just wanted to point out that up above you have the phrase 'been hear and done that? tell us all about it. we'll catch up.' the 'hear' in 'been hear' should be spelled 'here', not like the act of hearing. i'm being picky i know, i just appreciate what you do and want you to look your best. cheers
