BarFly's Review of Manila Express Restaurant
Spent some time in Tigard? We haven't, so review away!
.50 for good taco's and some of the stiffest drinks around! Don't go here expecting more then a small main street bar. Go here for a laid back relaxing place to kick your feet up after a long day at work.
Love the place! We have hung out at Manila Express off and on during this summer. Great food, Great service and on the nights we have been there Great music! Global FM you guys ROCK!
Manila Express is the place to go for a great cheeseburger, top shelf booze (Pete is starting to amass a nice selection of Single Malt Scotch), and Rock'N'Roll.
I go in every few weeks. There is always something new.
Manila is very cool and just keeps getting better!
The manila is a fun place to go hang out with friends..The new owner has made alot a great changes for the better..you can always find good and new bands playing every weekend..excellent selection of beers and top shelf alcohol..The service is good and the menu has been upgraded alot..I go there to see my favorite Bartender, his name is David and has been serving me for many years..he is very good at making alot of good drinks as well as keeping you at feeling welcome and entertained..This place is very misunderstood for what it used to be 20 years ago..The Bartenders have done a great job of cleaning up all the trouble makers and made it a fun place to go..give it a try on the weekend nites, You will be surprised
I personally love the Manila. The customers are great and alot of fun. The service is excellent. Food is affordable and drinks are outstanding! They now feature live music on Friday and Saturday nights as well as a Jam Session on Thursday evenings. The new owner is making great changes too.
Yep, this is the diveiest bar in Tigard, and that's saying a lot. I personally like a cozy dive, so I used to go here a lot. You know those rough local bars by the coast where everyone turns around and sizes you up when you walk in `a la Coos bay? That's what this place is like. They used to have an asian cover band on the weekends and we would dance to them singing "Superfleak" yes, Superfleak, thats how they pronounced it. Hilarious, especially when you're drunk. A lot of mexicans here, true, but they pretty much mind their own business. They stopped cashing labor ready checks and the place does look cleaner now so it's more palatable for the "normies" these days.
Never going back to this POS. Seems like it is a magnet for illegal aliens Mexicans everywhere and they drink and drug their way in and out of this bar. The food is, well let's just say I would rather eat at a 3rd world country buffet before I tried their food. However the service their is awesome and the drinks are outstanding. Laurel the old lady that works there was nice as apple pie. Betty seems like she is always about ready to pass out. I will say this I will return here just for the fun of it.
