BarFly's Review of Morrison Hotel

Sparsely decorated though comfortable bar with chameleon-like walls that are green during the day but seem blue at night. Other than the 120ish bottled beers, the two most interesting facets of this bar are located by the bathrooms. The rescued front door to the legendary 24-Hour Church of Elvis resides here.

Be sure to check out the framed tickets stubs from concerts by such prolific artists as Iron Maiden and Van Halen. Popular with the after work crowd, normally slow later. Personable bartenders who know more about beer than most.

Turkish Pizza, ftw

Surprised nobody has yet commented on the sheer badassery of their turkish pizza. I have dreams about that thing. In fact, i often walk from 45th and burnside just to get my turkish pizza fix before a night out. i did it twice last week.

As it says on the menu under turkish pizza: "if you don't try it, you're a loser."

This place is boss

Totally laid-back staff and live-and-let-live clientele are two of the best things about this place. Of course, when I say "laid back," I do mean "laid back:" be prepared to wait a few minutes at the bar when you first arrive before someone shows up, and if you sit away from the bar, get ready to wait a few more minutes after you finish your beer before a server comes by and fixes the problem. On the plus side, the service is ultra-friendly and likable, so you probably won't mind having a little downtime between drinks. I didn't, at any rate.

It's a smoking bar, but it isn't smoky. The decor is relaxing and inviting without being cluttered up with memorabilia. There's at least 85 beers available by the bottle, but I just went through the list of the 4 they had on tap when I was there; the Allagash White Ale is served with a shake of cinnamon on top of the head--and it works! I'd like to see them double or triple their taps, but otherwise I have no complaints about this place whatsoever.

I haven't tried the food except for the fries yet--they were cheap and delicious but nothing particularly fancy. Crunchy, salty and not soggy or chewy at all. The burgers that the guys next to us got looked pretty damn good though. I'll definitely be back with more friends in the near future.

Huge beer selection

Known for having around 100 bottled beer selection, the MoHo is a fantastic place to find something you may not be able to fine elsewhere.

Over 15 IPA's. A bevy of Belgians.

When in Portland and looking for something new and different to drink, this is the spot.
