BarFly's Review of Nocturnal (CLOSED)

Nocturnal is no longer. It is now
East Burn

Feels like a nighttime daycare center for twenty-something creative types. Attractively geeky crowd, heavy on the hornrims, has really taken a shine to the new club's diverse offerings, making Wednesday's Craft Night especially popular. All ages dance/performance space upstairs, 21 & over downstairs. Art shows in both rooms usually debut on the first of the month. Smoking in downstairs bar only. Beer from $2 regularly. Open at 7pm-1am. Food served till 1am. Sundays: Swing dance lessons 6-7pm; open dance 7-11pm, all ages, $6 (upstairs); bar open downstairs. Wednesdays: Tango 7pm-midnight, $5, all ages (upstairs); Craft Night, 8pm, 21 + up only, free (downstairs). Thursdays: Salsa, 8:30pm, $5, all ages (upstairs); Independent film screenings and/or Game Night, featuring big screen Atari 2600, 21+up only, free (downstairs). Fridays and Saturdays: Live music, all ages, cover varies (upstairs); deejays, no cover, 21+up (downstairs).

lame. sauce.
did we miss something? damn thing was locked, closed, and looked like it had been that way for a while. we even rang the doorbell. nothing. in our disappointment we ended up at the doug fir, which was most certainly NOT filled with the "attractively geeky crowd" we had been looking forward to mingling with.

siiiiiigggghh.
