Well I go to the lounge there usually every weekend, very nice heavyset blonde waitress that is always pleasant. Try the PARADISE chicken lunch special it really is heaven. Fast service, not too smokey. I have noticed a lot of old timers stopping in for their mid morning fix and the video poker section is always busy. But really the atomosphere is very comfortable. If you don't want that nasty Lloyd Center food court meal check out The Orient you'll be glad you did and want to come back again.
My folks lived in Asia and I tend to be a Chinese food snob. Not much good in Portland, but this place is the best we've found for basic, good Chinese food (Szechuan, Hunan, some Cantonese). They have a reasonably priced lunch menu too. The food is consistently of a high quality, and the place is kid friendly. Of the three other Chinese restaurants we've tried in China Town, this beats them all hands down, so this is where we go. Downside for some: they don't do dim sum, have no egg foo yung, and don't serve chicken feet.
BTW, the service is nicer than at Wong's King, and the ambience, while not spectacular, allows you to have a drink and pause at the end of the day before eating dinner. Have a Manhattan and have fun watching the server walk VERY slowly so as not to spill a drop!
