BarFly's Review of Paddy's
Note-perfect pub-grub, casually dignified wood interiors befitting the building’s history, a frankly arousing bottle count and what should be a comfortable atmosphere - we like Paddy’s and wish we could spend more evenings ‘round their marble bar, but eclectic crowds are too often overwhelmed after work. As gimmicks go, it’s hard to argue with a seven-tiered wall of booze, but collecting hundreds of brands of spirits as eye candy for the cosmo-swilling suburbanites that descend come happy hour just seems in poor taste. Food & booze till 2:30am M-Sat, till 1am Sun. $4.50 menu, $3.75 well and micros 3-6pm M-F, 10pm-cl M-Sat and all day Sunday

This listing for Sat. Happy Hour is incorrect according to Paddy's. I wonder how many other listings for Sat. Happy Hour are accurate?

Great selection, excellent service; I always stop in for an Irish Whiskey when I'm downtown. Try the Red Breast and have a pleasant chat with a regular.

Import beers are served in Imperial Pints, 20 oz which is why you paid more.

For those of you who love Scotch Whiskey (like me), this is the Downtown Portland bar for you. Their selection is HUGE, the prices are fair, and the atmosphere and food aren't bad either. Forget Kells, its too crowded and too full of itself. Go to Paddy's and try the Johnny Walker Blue Label!

While I can appreciate an occasional outing to the more hip and trendy places where there is nobody but beautiful people, my favourite place is Paddy's Bar & Grill. It is always comfortable with just the right feeling and mix of people from a varied and diverse demographic. The staff are friendly and inviting, which makes it seem my place not theirs. Please do not overlook a place because it is not flashy, it has only been around for over 25 years now for a reason.
Thanks,
Cheryl Camillo
