BarFly's Review of Pink Feather

Despite the endlessly-creepy name and Victorian brothel decor overstuffed with erotic velvet paintings, The Pink Feather's neither a gay bar nor strip club - it's just a charmingly old-fashioned family dive celebrating rococo eccentricities, and the service traditions that keep their regulars coming back for decades, and inner-city hipsters braving the drive for nudging-free cocktails, and a hidden world of timeswept kitsch-soul. The bar’s changed somewhat of late, less intimate for all the tables removed, but they still feature forgotten entrees of inexpensive quality (why doesn't every bar'n'grill offer broasted chicken?) and an unbroken tradition of power-packed cocktails served with a smile.

Terrible

We just ate there and waited 30 minutes for our food even though we were the only patrons. my steak was overcooked. my husband's burger was not how he ordered it (which was without any goofy sauce which he had to scrape off). we did not get our water refilled. it took forever to get our bill. the decor is vomit inducing. Will not ever be returning!

Celeberity Sightings

Soon to be celebrated author Oslo Hayes, and her husband "H" are often seen at the Pink, sitting at the bar, talking to Delores--their favorite bartenerness. They often develop stories lines for books, and meet with other authors. It has been said, that many of the characters used, have been real people from The Pink...

Strong Drinks

The drinks were so strong I had to order an extra juice to dilute it down! Nice bartender and clientele, but a wee bit geriatric for me, but very nice.

Friendly Place to newcomers

Halibut fish and chips were the best. Kudos.

Good drinks, food, & company

Very reasonable drinks and great food. Great staff and a friendly atmosphere. Old fashioned neighborhood lounge, and nice family friendly restaurant in front. Family owned and operated. Everyone is welcome and on your second visit you are not a stranger. Known for their broasted chicken. Dine in or take out. Very busy on Friday nights with possibly some wait time for a table in the lounge. All other times you get prompt seating and immediate service.

Bitchin bar

The Feather was great! I'd always driven by it on my way out to where I live in BFE but never been inside. It looks like a total dive from the outside but it the perfect amount of seedy glam splendour on the inside. Very friendly helpful service, great grilled ham & cheese and amaretto sours. People kept coming in to get take out dinners (steak, chicken & lobster) while we were there and were raving about the food. I'll try a dinner next time! The pink feathers for first-timers are a bonus! Everyone working behind and sitting at the bar said a friendly goodbye to us on our way out. Nice place, nice people. A little smokey but not too bad.
