The second outpost in the burgeoning Pix empire is a real chocolate laboratory - watch the expert mocha mixologists at work, while enjoying their labor's delectable fruits.

Decor is a kooky hybrid of industrial chic, and early Reno brothel - cement and steel overcome by ruby red flocked wallpaper, and antique-y bric-a-brac. Expect a wait on Friday and Saturday nights.

Like bubbles? Pix has 35+ champi choices, with at least 20 available by the glass.

Sundays: High Tea served 11am-3pm, $28 prix fixe includes pot of local Thompson's, and everything from traditional cucumber sandwiches to housemade Nutella.
Mondays: free movies.
Thursdays: Flight Night ($10 gets you an educational round of specialty beers and wines, paired with various desserts).

If you like sweets and Scotch like I do, you'll forgive the terrible musicians they sometimes have playing here.

I think it's a great little desert place for yourself and one other without being too "romantic".
