BarFly's Review of Produce Row
For decades, an oasis of beer garden delights within industrial southeast, Produce Row offers twenty-some well-chosen taps and over two hundred bottles. The interior, formerly a string of cozy nooks, has been opened out, allowing better vantage towards enjoying live music - jazz to DJs to Storm - but the back patio remains the draw. Large, high-walled, equally suited for summertime lunches (their rectangular burgers are a distinct pleasure; the small's too big and the large would feed a village), or gritting through a bittersweet drizzle.
Last night I was hanging out at the Row and my friend mentioned the inordinate number of beards. I did a tally and the score was: Guys with a full beard = 14 Guys with no Beard = 8

produce row has gone through many changes in the last few months although it has also held onto a lot of it's oldschool charm. the compact rooms are no longer compact due to a renovation that occured in febuary, now it's more like one big sunny room. they still have the bands, but don't be surprised to see a dj every once in a while throwing down the dancing beats, too. tuesdays are now SIN night, so look for the evening drink and food specials for all the service industry peeps. unfortunately there is a cover almost every night, but quite reasonable starting at $2 and maybe being $5( for the nights Storm & The Balls play)and if you want a cocktail, you can find one there unless you're in the mood for one of their 250+ beers. check it out, you won't regret it.
