Not that great
I think bareback have fairly valid view when it comes to how "engaging" and how willing to be sexually provactive to male audience for those dancers working in Star Cabaret. First, I really don’t think I was “lashing out” at strippers at Stars. If you read my review carefully, you will see that I actually was quite complimentary of the establishment and its strippers, plus I called out the fucking cheapos who don’t want to pay cover.

Second, I am not the only guy who likes slutty strippers who are nice and naughty. Open your eyes and look at the strippers who have the most crowd appeal. Sure, we all love strippers with beautiful faces, smoking hot bodies and great outfits, but we also want strippers who give there all when performing. This is all about the tease, and there is nothing more titillating than a stripper who spreads her legs wide and shows off her pink pussy. The symbolism is incredible. It's about class and ass. It's about being beautiful and naughty.

Third, as far as the OLCC is concerned, I think you are living in the past. Two Oregon Supreme Court's decisions have forced the agency to repeal rules it had regulating what strippers can and cannot do. The OLCC freely says it does not regulate nude dancing; it regulates liquor.

But don’t believe me; read the OLCC’s news release from Oct. 20, 2006. I quote:

"The Oregon Liquor Control Commission has altered its rule on lewd/unlawful activities at licensed premises to comply with two recent Oregon Supreme Court decisions protecting nude entertainment as free expression. The decisions were based on the court’s interpretations of Article 1, Section 8 of the Oregon Constitution.

Liquor commissioners amended OAR 845-006-0347 to remove references to lewd activities, nude entertainment and restrictions on nude performers, but strengthened the OLCC’s ability to prohibit unlawful activities such as prostitution, public indecency, controlled substances and other crimes on a premises. The rule defines other activities that licensees are responsible for preventing, including disorderly and noisy behavior and drinking outside the premises.

Judith Bracanovich, director of OLCC’s policy and process division, said the Supreme Court’s Sept. 29, 2005, State v. Ciancanelli and City of Nyssa v. Dufloth decisions compelled the agency to do away with rule language defining lewd activities, spatial separations between nude entertainers and patrons, and person-to-person touching or sexual activity. However, these are not protected when linked to criminal activities, such as prostitution."

The good, the bad and the slutty
OK, let’s get some of the basics out of the way. For the reviewers who complain about cover charges and overpriced beers … don’t be such fucking cheapskates. You pay for what you get. This ain’t some shit hole. If you want that, there are plenty of other places with bikers and skanky women to choose from.

Even if you are intent on getting off as cheap as possible, you can pay the cover charge and nurse a shitty American beer sitting at a table behind the rack. For the really cheap motherfuckers out there, you can stiff the cocktail waitress who deserves a tip. You still will get to see plenty of hot strippers and can escape with spending only $10 to $15. That’s a pretty good deal considering the show.

Speaking of cocktail waitresses … this is an area where Stars really stands out. In other strip joints, you will get a beer handed to you by some skank wearing a plaid shirt. Stars has hot babes for cocktail waitresses dressed in hot outfits. Shit, some of them are hotter than the strippers. And since they are well-staffed, you don’t have to wait long to get a drink. Just be sure to give these pretty women some tip love; they deserve it.

On the down side, the bar is too smoky, the music too loud and the DJ too obnoxious. There were times I just wanted to scream: Why don’t you shut the fuck up!

But let’s get on to the main attraction at any strip club, and that’s the strippers themselves. First, Stars truly has beautiful women, lots and lots of them. I was there on a Saturday night and I swear at least two dozen hot babes came prancing out of the dressing room while Motley Crue’s “Girls Girls Girls” blared from the speakers. These women are dressed to the nines in gowns and other nice outfits and some routinely wear my favorites: stockings and heels.

If you like big tits – and who doesn’t? -- this is the place for you. On any given night, you will find several women who have had implants so their tits are pumped up to huge proportions. Nothing like seeing a nice rack while sitting at the rack.

Of course, I expect my big-titted sluts to be nice and naughty. When I am at a pussy bar, it’s all about gorgeous sluts who spread their legs early and often. I don’t care how beautiful a stripper is; I expect her to spread her legs wide. And I mean fucking w-i-d-e, not just one or two obligatory flashes of pussy. I would rather give the money to some homeless guy than to some stripper who thinks she just has to twitch her body a little and look away.

Moreover, private dances often aren't worth the $20. Some women put less effort in the so-called champagne room than they do for their stage show. Why pay $20 for one song when you can tip a couple of dollars per song and get pretty much the same treatment at the rack?

This critique should not diminish what Stars has to offer … an upscale environment, hot cocktail waitresses and dozens of beautiful women with hot bodies and great outfits.

But … if Stars really wanted to be No. 1, every stripper would use her hair on her customers, every stripper would seductively lick her lips, every stripper would take her bottoms off early, every stripper would constantly spread her legs wide and every stripper would part her pink pussy lips to showcase her tight bare cunt.

Overrated
Stars is overrated...expensive....$8 cover kicks in at 6!!!! A Bottle of bud is $4.50...Im no lesbian, I may like my tittie bars but I was unimpressed.

Overrated and Overpriced
Go to the Dolphin instead, or the Acropolis if you are willing to drive. Stars disappointed me at every level. From the $6 cover to the $8 drinks to the cookie-cutter Barbie-Blonde dancers who won't even look at you for less than $10, to the $13 "Special" dinner that is small enough to leave even the lightest appetite hungry; Stars can be summed up in one phrase: "Waste of Money."

Over all the best
I don't think there's any one club in Portland, or on the planet that can appeal to everyone's tastes. Stars is no exception. Their drink prices are a little higher then the dive clubs, and yes there's a cover charge, but at 50 cents a drink more and a $5 cover, you don't have to hang out with the meth heads and gang bangers that seem to frequent the other clubs. The girls are hot, of course that's subjective, I prefer girls who aren't pierced and tatooed on every available square in of their flesh. I suppose if all you can afford is a Ford fiesta, you point out all the flaws with a Mercedes....sour grapes.

Meh...
It is much better then the Dolphin II, which is just east of Stars, but not a "must see" type of club. The girls usually are very hot, but that is tempered by a rude staff, weak drinks and the biggest assholes--their customers.

Not very good anymore
Stars used to be one of my favorite clubs in Portland. They had the best looking girls and the best upscale crowd. Now they have under par dancers, a few are good looking but more are not that great. Lots better clubs elsewhere in portland now.

Hot with a twist
One of the hottest girls I have seen in a long time graced the stage when I was there. I think it was still daylight when I went in. Of course, it was rainy so who could tell what time it really was. Stars was a complete disappointment. You'd think, with the surcharge and the hype surrounding this phenomenon, there would be some visual to back it up. Such was not the case. Try recycled girls from the Acropolis with more income to spare on boob jobs and botox. Even Exotica is better than this.

Stars was my first strip club on my 21st birthday, I got so damn spoiled cuz it makes all the other clubs look like work release programs. Love it, 99% of the girls are eye-candy and the service is awesome.
