BarFly's Review of Twilight Room
A prototypical college bar, and a neighborhood fixture for ages. Vestiges of decades old “Senior Sign Ins” (U of P seniors would traditionally commemorate graduation with officially sanctioned graffiti) here and there, despite remodel. Lots of room, plenty of well-used wooden booths. Good selection of micros. $1.50 Jell-O shots. Pool x3. Super nice barkeeps. Excellent fried foodstuffs. 25 cents off all domestics, 50 cents off micros 4:30-6:30 M-F. Thurs is college night with live bands, $4 PBR pitchers & various generous specials. Fridays: Live bands. Saturdays: Karaoke. Never a cover.

The T Room is a chill place with excellent food. Everything I have ordered is great especially the burgers and the onion rings. Everyone I have met that works here over the years have been really friendly and quick to get you another drink. I usually go in the day because it gets crowded at nights especially weekends when there's music. The well drinks come out of the gun so it is better to order top shelf shit and you will get much stronger drinks that way. I go here at least a couple times a month and highly recommend it. I have been coming in here for like 8 years.
Starting this Sunday we will be opening @ 9, serving breakfast, bloody marys and with 6 TVs we can pretty much watch any game you want to watch!
Things are a little different at the Twilight Room these days. happy hour is from 4-6 and no more Jell-o shots but all in all it's a fun place to hang out. They have 3 pool tables, a Golden Tee machine, pinball and darts. They have a rockin' patio thats open late, with a small covered area for smokers when it rains
I bartended at the T-room in '98 w/the best crew...J.R./Paul/Chris/Erin/"Tokes". Mike made the best T-burger! Best job/fun I've ever had! I still remember doin' "the walk"! Miss you guys!
The drinks at this place are made just the way I like them - strong! Good atmosphere, pool tables, decent food and fine looking people. Don't forget- they have live music too!
If you want a good review of St Johns, let me know :) So many: Dads, Slims, The Perch, The Ranger, The Blue Parrot, Blue Balls, The Wishing Well, Six Point Inn, and SO many more! Oh, the quality of choices is staggerng, and I can honestly say I havent been into half these places do to cold fear. Ha ha.
I have been going to the T-Room for years now... not for the alcohol or the 3 pool tables.. or even the darts. Instead, I go there for the food. The servings are huge and (according to my mom) they have THE BEST Bleu Burger in Portland. I enjoy the Mushroom Burger (fresh grilled mushrooms..... YUM!) While I'm not into sports, they do have quite a few TVs there so you can watch what you want. The wait staff is friendly and even when they are busy, seem to get the food to you in a timely manner. I recommend the Twilight Room for anyone who loves a good burger or a giant plate of nachos!
You always know that your gonna run into everyone and thier mama literally at the T Room.If you go there enough its got a cheers feeling. (where everybody knows your name).Born and raised in NoPo its very irritating when the U of P yuppies are in school cuzz they totally take over the bar. Popcorns a good treat and if its your night to get shity order and amf and you'll be on your way. If your not a regular you get cut off at three though so dont get your hopes up. The bartenders for the most part are cool some think that their to cool but whatever. Barts the man and Daves pretty cool. The mornings suck service and all. Onion rings on the late night are the best with ranch. Its ghetto but can be really fun with a big group to just take over your area. Tends to have lots of St.Johns drama though so i dont go there much anymore=( T Room regular
Love this place...how could you not. Everyone that works there is friendly and fun. If you get to know the bartenders they will always remember what you drink, there is pool, darts, video crack, live music, karaoke, a dj....so much fun to be had by all. So get over your NORTH PORTLAND stereo types and go to the t-room..it's much better than the P-Club (Portsmouth club) across the street...
This is like the type of bar you find in Wisconsin...big booths, great selection of bargames, cheap beer, tasty food.
Heaven in NoPO.
tended bar at the t-Room in 1966.... reading these reviews, sounds like nothing much has changed.... great place....
I've been going to the t-room for decades and all I have to say is "God Bless The T-Burger!" The T-Room is breathtaking.
How about a listing actually meant for this bar? The one listed here is obviously for the Twilight Cafe/Bar on SE Powell. That said, the T-room is great, low-key and divey. Good food, local crowd, and they have Addams family pinball!
Could be the best NoPo has to offer. Came in with some friends, and felt right at home, that is if "home" were to serve delicious PBR pitchers and tequila shots! Anyways, I loved how much people had to drink to go dance(myself included) and even then not many people would get down. The quality of college co-eds was great on a thursday-the townhouse girls know how to do it-I'll miss ya. Overall, a great place-but watchout for the older drunk randoms that fall off the street-they may get a bit fiesty. In that case, just kick their monkey ass like we almost did. Cheers!
Cheap beer...check. Dive Bar...check. Reinforcing negative NoPo stereotypes...check. Killer fries...for sure.
The T-room has been kickin' NoPo ass for years. It was sweet when I was a UP student and we still hit it every once in awhile. As for sweet t's review, too bad. I won't miss your wining ass "their". Oh, I mean there. Here's to karoking to Journey! Prost!
Was the author of the review drunk when he or she wrote it? The Twighlight Room is a complete dive-bar where I spent most of my Thursday nights for the past year. Known to University of Portland students as the place to enjoy cheap PBR pitchers on Thirsty Thursday, it is where private-school-bmw-driving-using-daddy's-creditcard-yuppy student meets the thoothless-haven't-showered-in-days-North Portland folk. They often play pool together. It is a fun dive-bar, with live music and ghetto-inspired kareoke. Occasionally a group of 30-something softball players come in thier uniforms, and check out all the college girls...yeah, creepy. It is pretty quiet during the summer, but if you truly want to experience the T-Room, go on a Thursday during the school year. The staff is cool and usually knows your drink when you walk through the door. The popcorn is always salty too. As for cute punk boys and "the hardest rocking bar in town"....nope. Not really.
the t-room as reffered to in north portland. is as my point of view a waste of a good time its a oaky bar by far we had a lame time and left after one drink the music was lame thier are only two pool tables and the dart area is a joke. much better time is had across the street at the P club or portsmouth inn to you all not from p- town
