BarFly's Review of Urban Farmer
(On the eighth floor of the Nines Hotel, in the former Meier & Frank building, above Macy's.)
Enclosed faux-courtyard space carries a whiff of Holidome, the translucent "open" roof sealing in the room like a stifling, if swanky, terrarium. Spacious, semi-private, conversation pits are good for groups, and the long bar is a friendly-enough hangout for the solo drinker.
The excellent happy hour menu is locavore-centric, as is the house cocktail menu, which is heavy on local micro-booze. The house-made moonshine is a must. Congenial service is generally spot on.
