BarFly's Review of Watertrough
Affable, entertaining bartenders, keep this low-slung pool joint a favorite stop in the Stumble Zone, despite its lackluster facilities. Local geezers take up the few barstools, while the 25 cent pool tables (x4), and old-school shuffleboard (x1) draw the 'hood's younger, bohemian crowd.
Note to self: beer to go available until 2:30am.
Small, sit-around fireplace.

the bartender was great, the jukebox was fantastic and diverse as noted by others, which is apparently also the work of aforementioned great bartender.
the food is worthy of the slagging that the previous reviewers laid on it, with the exception of the homemade chili that is really good by any standard, bar or restaurant.
If your looking for fancy martinis, stuck-up girls, and long waits at the bar go downtown to one of the many fine establishments they have there. However, if you want a low-key, cheap, more typical hawthorne type scene bar to play pool or shuffle board this place is awesome. The bathrooms aren't spectacular, but they aren't at a lot of more expensive bars as well. BYO ladies and you won't be disappointed in that regard. There isn't a foul smell if your drinking your $6 pitcher of beer, and its the cheapest place in town to play shuffle board or pool. How can anyone hate on this place? idiots. go tan, whiten your teeth, wax your eye brows and head to a ritzier place if you want, I'm heading to the water trough.
This place is comfortable and down-home as all hell. It's not much to look at, but neither are the drink prices. Cheap pitchers of beer, a fully loaded, diverse jukebox, and cheap (albeit microwaved) food make this place an awesome, oversized game room. Cheap pool, darts, and shuffleboard, friendly customers, and bartenders who will treat you right if you aren't a douchebag.
This bar is a-ok although it is not my normal type of place. It does smell, the bathrooms are totally fucked, the food (if any) is blah, it is smoky, they only have beer, etc. This is a hippie/dive bar right up at the top of Hawthorne that is a great place to hide out and relax. The pool tables (X4) are a quarter and the beer is cheap as shit. Cool people or (sometimes no people) hang out here. I often wonder how it stays in business so I make sure to give them a little of my money from time to time to help out with their rent.
the 4th stop in the stumble zone i remember it the least..i know that pool was a quarter and it was super dead..but drinks were cheap and the bartender was friendly!! pretty cool place. kind of like a mini-sewicklys.
Laid back just how I like it, 0.25$ pool tables, awesome bartenders, hole in the wall, bathrooms are gnarly but I love the place, all I need is pabst, pacman, and VP. Not incredibly crowded like everywhere else you go on Hawthorne.
Fightclub in here sometimes. Very stinky, no good food and no liquor but it has pool tables, cheap beer and smoking which is all it takes some nights...
Well, ok, beer is good; and they serve it! But oh my fucking god! Right when you step in there you feel like you've reached the corner of second and Burnside downtown. I need a shower.
This is my favorite bar in P town. If you don't mind second hand emphysema, then this place rocks. What's up Kurt, Amy, Rich, Maureeka, and Don. The crew here is top notch. You gotta ask for Beep Beep if you go here, he is one crazy cat. Very friendly local crowd.
