Breakfast and Deli Cook for Fun, Funky Neighborhood Joint
We need a flexible, can-do person to work as a full-time breakfast and lunch cook for a neighborhood deli preparing and serving egg dishes and other breakfast items, and prepping and preparing sandwiches and deli items for lunch.
The job will start in mid-to-late December, and is a full-time, permanent position. We are located very close to downtown in close-in Southwest. Pay is dependent on experience, matched to local standards, and includes shared tips. Work is five days per week including Saturday and Sunday starting with breakfast prep and service.
The perfect person will be neat and clean, experienced and responsible, and bring solid egg skills and food knowledge to the job. Showing up on time, clean and sober, is absolutely required. Must have food handlers card. Experience is preferred, and culinary grads are encouraged to apply.
Specific Duties Include:
Prep and cook breakfast items to order, with emphasis on egg pan and omelet skills, and including pancakes
Prep and assist in lunch service and catering, specifically deli sandwiches and salads
Maintain proper food costs, margins and budgets, order food and supplies as needed
Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen at all times, including maintenance and cleaning of griddle, range, oven, slicer, and other equipment
Assist in staff training for food prep and kitchen sanitation
Assist with miscellaneous kitchen tasks in a small, efficient operation, including dishwashing and trash / recycling as necessary
Participate in special events that may include dinner service
Other tasks as requested from time to time or as the position develops
