Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and efficient production of excellent and consistent quality product.
Develop and maintain knowledge of the taste, appearance and character our food including; ingredients, recipes, food allergens, shelf life, and product placement.
Provide excellent customer service when needed and be respectful.
Maintain cleanliness and order of kitchen and storage area.
This person will:
Follow established recipes and procedures for all products through all steps of preparation, baking, and finishing to insure excellent and consistent results.
May do some food prep slicing meat and cheeses processing vegetables, ensuring food quality and freshness by prepping to order and following kitchen procedures.
Will receive and process orders from vendors, monitor and minimize food waste.
Ensure the Kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized.
Take detailed special orders in person or over the phone.
Job Requirements:
Schedule and location flexibility - hours will include early morning opening, and may include closing any day of the week.
Available to work for 30 hours up to 4 days a week.
Professionalism towards coworkers, managers, owner and cafe community.
Be aware of your schedule and show up on time. Morning shifts start at 5:00am.
Follow approved procedures for operation of kitchen equipment/machinery. and all health, sanitary, and company policies and procedures.
Keep work areas clean and in good order after each use.
Skills Required:
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Ability to work on ones feet, and go up and down stairs for up to 8 hours a day.
Day to day organization, hands on food-prep cooking and baking.
Skills Admired:
Adaptability, Flexibiliy, Whisking, Weighing, Knife Skills, Pastry Creams, Curiosity, Lattice Work, Math.
Qualifications:
2 plus years experience in high volume, high quality, consistent scratch cooking and baking.
Health and dental insurance is available after 3 months of full-time employment.
