BarFly's Review of Satyricon (CLOSED)
Satyricon closed its doors at the end of October, 2010.
BARFLY ALERT: Satyricon is closing its doors after its final show on Saturday, October 30th, 2010, and the building is scheduled for demolition in the winter of 2011. Subsequenly, October's line-up is one not-to-be-missed show after another.
The legendary pioneer of the PDX punk scene officially closed its doors years back, subsequently suffering halting stints as a dance club. In the mid-2000s, it was recincarnated as an all-ages live music venue (heavy on the punk), a fair approximation of the 'Con's halcyon days of yore.
For its final month of shows (October 2010) both Satyricon, and the former Fellini, will be 21 and over, with full bar served throughout.

Well, in the late 90's it was my HOME ... loved seeing Morbid ANgel and stuff. Sorry to hear that it reopened and being crappy ;)
I'm working on compiling photos and stories of OLD Satyricon days for possible publication. Remember your boyfriend passing out in the pisser after trying to climb on stage with Poison Idea because his fake id worked too well? I want to know about it. Email me...firstname.lastname@example.org
the original 1 was cool. it had an appealing nihilistic atmosphere. when it closed it was like an end of an era. it should have stayed closed. the new satyricon is kind of a stripped-down tribute version. portland offers better music venues now - kelly's olympian, ash street saloon, rotture, rock'n'roll pizza, hawthorne theatre to name a few.
cheap beer and pinball without the crowd of the Clinton St.
the bands next door can be heard in the bar so you can still enjoy your drinks without missing the show
