Cozy, lowkey atmosphere. Good jazz most nights ($2 cover w/d, $5 cover w/e). Extra-cush club seating and the most comfortable barstools in town. H-O-T staff talk a good game, too.

I had some if the best memories there. I took my Mom there from out of town to show her a different side of me one night. We had so much fun listening to some great jass. That night will live inside me until I lake my last breath.
I worked here for 5 years and made some of the best friends I have. It was "home" for many people, including myself, its' staff, the musicians, the jazz fans, and patrons of the mesquite grill/exhibition kitchen. Bring it back! It's a part of Portland history that should continue!
Oh, the humanity! This place should have been on the historical registry - there aren't very many places like this left on the west coast. Too bad it tanked, I hear the booking agent didn't know or appreciate jazz...a shame!
I must have taken Portland for granted all those years. The jazz, especially the blues live music including Vancouvers Cascade Tavern. We moved to Las Vegas three years ago and never once I have expierenced the same thrill of live music. Portland I miss you!
I only had one chance to visit this club, several years back, it was wonderful, felt like "Home", I am coming home (Oregon) to visit again and wanted to stop in. Rats. Teresa in South "Cac-a-lackey" (SC)
I wish this place was still around, but it's been closed for years. It turned into a strip club, then a jazz club again called "The Jazz"? I think. Haven't been back since the Opus closed. Whatta tragedy. It was my favorite place for happy hour AND special occasions. The food was divine.
