I live in NE and see this bar (or club?) every day on my commute: 22 Twelves. It's not listed on BarFly, and searching Google reveals only this brief listing. Casually observing the clientele (usually as I'm driving past en route to a different bar) reveals that it's popular with the Black / African-American community. I somehow get the feeling you wouldn't find many neo-NE residents in attendance, what with their skinny jeans and shaggy haircuts, wandering in from, say, Vendetta a few blocks to the north.
But then again, we tried one time: my only direct interaction with the club (about a year ago) ended when, on a weekend night, the doorman sucessfully repelled my wandering friends and I with the threat of a $10 cover. $10 for what? At the time, we wondered: were there strippers inside? A DJ? A live band? Maybe it was just a $10 policy to keep deadbeats at bay. I don't expect to find anything truly relevatory inside beyond what's advertised outside: food, drinks, sports on tv. But its absence in the near-encyclopedic BF listings makes me even more curious. What's this place all about?

Thanks for the heads up, Flugel - I've driven by it a few times myself, made a mental note to add it next time, then totally forgot...everytime. Sounds like I've got an adventure this week.
I did add it to the database: http://www.barflymag.com/bar/22-twelve.html
