Goodbye Summer, hello Allspice Dram!

I'm always sad to say goodbye to summer, but happy to welcome a new season of drinking and all that that entails. I've been playing a little at home with bourbon and allspice cocktails, creating a nice segue into the fall, however, falling a little short on seasonal beers. New to the area (imagine that!), and not afraid to get the middle of my shirt dirty...any suggestions on locally crafted fall ales? Additionally, is the Oaks Park Oktoberfest deliciously Bevarian, or dreadfully Beavertonian?

I'm not sure about the Oaks Park feel just yet, but I plan on finding out tonight! Very popular over the years, but I've always avoided it until now. Definitely supposed to be more family friendly than Mt Angel's, because they have all those rides and what not. I know they do have beer. Not sure what kind exactly. I also know parking will be a nightmare. I'd recommend biking in on the Spring Water Corridor or walking and bypassing that whole headache. Or rather, delaying that headache until the next morning.

Maybe I'll see you there! I hope you'll be dressed in traditional garb.

Edit - this was fun. Not nearly the meat market that Mt Angel is and a much older crowd in general. The place was dying by 10:50 PM, but they had the biggest plastic cup pyramids by far, and this was biking distance for me, so a thumbs up.
