 Hi Jen,

I don't believe we've ever met, I am a local PDX filmmaker, curator and videographer. I recently had the good fortune of working with the late Doug Baum on my most recent short film: "Karaoke Gates of Steel", I wanted to get in touch and let you know that this video will be playing the opening night of the NW Film and Video Festival on Nov.7th in the Shorts #1 Program and that I am dedicating this screening to the memory of Doug. Sadly, I didn't get the chance to know Doug super well, we actually attended the same Video/TV production program at Mt. Hood Community College several years ago. I always had good conversation with the man when I would bump into him at various film and video screenings around town as he was always in good spirits, in fact I can't recall him ever having a bad thing to say, he did an absolutely great job as an actor earlier this year in my short and I was really bummed to learn of his recent passing.

This is a Karaoke video and for this screening which kicks off the opening of the 35th NW Film and Video Festival it will be receiving live vocal accompaniment courtesy of Fern Capella lead singer of local Acapella group The Repair myspace.com/wearetherepair <http://myspace.com/wearetherepair>. I wish I could be in town for the event but I already had previous plans to travel to Texas.
