Ninkasi presents BarFly's 12th Anniversary BBQ Bash, Sunday, June 26th, at the Tonic!

BarFly turns twelve years old on Sunday, June 26th, and we're having our biggest and best BBQ Bash to celebrate! Come out early, and stay late - the party starts at 2pm, and rolls until 10pm.

Nine great bands make up a stellar bill, the free barbecue's in the the more than capable hands of LeRoy's Anton (who opened the Delta Cafe, way back when), Ninkasi's ponying up the brew.

With fingers-crossed for a rain-free summer day, we'll be doing the party entirely outside, making use of the Tonic's large parking lot (which will be closed to cars for the day), for a host of silly sideshows and games, including Goat Poop Bingo (just what it sounds like), a hipster Beard-Off (get your whiskers professionally sheared by master barber Josh Poole of Electric Ocean Barbershop, and compete for a cash prize for the most massive bag-o-beard, post-shave!), a Stripper Petting Zoo (where the strippers pet you!), traditional Cake Walks (officiated by DJ Drew Groove), and a Snack Race (combo sack-race/eating contest!).

Taboo Video will be doing a special pop-up shop in the parking lot, too!

In the oh, so small event of rain, we'll move the party inside (maybe not the Goat Poop Bingo...).

The live music will start at 2pm sharp, and continue all day. Here's the line-up (in approximate reverse order, from last up to first up):

The Hugs! (Four adorable boys not nearly old enough to remember early Kinks, but channeling the mid-sixties London sound like old pros.)
Holy Children (Psychedelic garage rock at its finest.)
Cool Breeze (Portland's premier R & B revue - if you're not dancing during their set, you're dead.)
Advisory! (Bouncy, lyrical rock and roll.)
Gaytheist (Hard rock with a sense of humor.)
Drunk Ladies (Crunchy metal with an emo bent.)
My New Vice (Grunge-inflected head-banging metal.)
The Sale (Mellow soft-rock with unique, home-made, percussion.)
Rian O'Hara (Off-beat, funny, singer-songwriter.)

Be there AND be square!

So, again, that's last Sunday,
Sunday, June 26th, 2011
2pm-10pm
at the Tonic Lounge
3100 NE Sandy Blvd
$5 (free with VIP invitation*)

This party is 21+, only, of course. Our usual zero tolerance policy for jerks, fighters, and spoilsports, will be firmly in place. Take a cab, or catch Tri-Met bus #12 to the front door. Oh, and, take Monday off, now - you'll need it.

Come on out, early - LeRoy's barbecue is so good, it won't last that long, and the entertainment starts at 2pm, sharp. There will be $3 Ninkasi brews and $3 well drinks throughout the festivities.

Any questions? Email info at barflypdx.com.

Remember, if it's a BarFly Party, it has to be good.

*Where's your VIP invite? If you toil in one of BarFly's favorite bars, you'll get invites delivered to you by the Post Office, and/or your BarFly advertising executron. Not a SINner? Check your email and your FaceBook inboxes - if you're one of the chosen few (i.e. NOT of "the small people"), you'll find your VIP invite, there.
