Whatever it is, I bet it involves plenty of everybody's best friend, alcohol! With the Spirit(s) of '76 in mind, BarFly's book-ending the four-day free-for-all with parties on Friday and Monday, for your red-blooded American pleasure!

DJ Uncle Sam-ediah straps on his red, white, and blue Speedo to turn the tables at T.G.I.BarFly on Friday, July 1st, at Star (Spangled!) Bar! Kick your weekend off right with free apps, plus $1.50 select dom, $3 well, $5 wine, and $1-4 menu, too, from 5pm-8pm.

Happily, this year, the Fourth of July coincides with Jedediah's Shorts-Shorts Night at the Tonic Lounge! DJ Meow (a.k.a. ME), fireworks, Uncle Sam, Snack Races - can you get any more patriotic? I think not. That's this Monday, July 4th, 10pm-2:30am, at the Tonic.

Still recovering from last Sunday's 12th Anniversary BarFly BBQ Bash? You're in good company - me, too. Here's a little recap on what went on, in case you're just a little fuzzy on the deets, or you, gasp, were unable to attend. Most of these photos should be credited to Mr Drew Groove, by the by.



Unfortunately, the goats, The Hugs, and the Snack Race all failed to materialize, but everyone was having so much f-u-n, I don't think anything was missed. The Stripper Petting Zoo (where the strippers pet you) was quite the success, and sure to be a fixture at BarFly BBQs for eons to come. The lovely ladies of Devil's Point and Lucky Devil took the concept and ran with it, all utterly totes adorbs and fashionably fuzzy-wuzzy.



Speaking of fuzzy-wuzzy, but considerably less cute, you can thank me now for combating Portland's rampant overgrowth of prison pussy! Josh Poole of Heads High set up a pop-up barbershop and many of our esteemed guests left the party looking much, much better than when they arrived.



Just look what he did with the big winner of the Beard-Off, Elvis!



The two newest members of Team BarF, DJ Drew Groove, and BarFly Babe, Rita Peta, teamed up for what turned out to be a totally killer Cake Walk! When she's not Babe Force BarFlying, Rita spends her time making incredible 'fantasy cakes' and she pumped out a dozen sex, drugs, and rock and roll -themed confections. If you didn't walk away a winner on Sunday, with some sweet-talking, Rita might make you your very own fantasy cake - friend her over on FaceySpace and send her a message for more info on her bad-ass baked goods.



Cruelly trapped indoors though they were, all the bands banged out stellar sets, making new friends and influencing people, all day long.

T.G.I.BarFly is BarFly's new Friday happy hour pop-up party, rocking and rolling into a new bar, every week. On Friday, July 1st, T.G.I.BarFly pops up at Star Bar, with DJ Uncle Sam-ediah, aka BarFly's own Jedediah!

Fourth of July Short-Shorts Night at Tonic with Deejay Meee-owww!



Put an extra-patriotic spring in your step and attend Jedediah "Ambassador of Recreation" Aaker's long-running Short-Shorts Night, at Tonic Lounge (3100 NE Sandy), on Monday, July 4th. None other than Miss Jen Lane of BarFly fame will be deejaying for your dancing pleasure. It's time to get laid on a Monday night, once again!

In honor of America's Birthday, we'll be getting our red, white, and blue ON, with a huge fireworks display, a special "Snack Race" (combo eating contest/three-legged race), and it's rumored that Uncle Sam may make a special personal appearance!

Short-Shorts Night is hosted with the mosted by Jedediah “Diamond” Aaker, and features a different deejay every week. On Monday, June 6th, Short-Shorts will be deejayed by Miss Jen Lane of BarFly Fame, a.k.a. DJ Meee-owww!

Cuckoo crazypants contests, with cool as ice prizes (tattoos! dinners! BarFly Bus tickets!), are a hallmark of Jedediah's par-tays, so come on down and be in it, to win it!
