Portland thieves steal Bridgetown comic’s hometown spirit!

A box of comedian Nick Mortensen’s homemade “Gay for Favre” t-shirts disappeared into the night, following a car break-in shortly after his arrival on our fair shores, last Thursday night. Mortensen, visiting Portland for the first time, discovered the theft immediately after his first appearance as a performer in last week's Bridgetown Comedy Fest. The shirts refer to the punchline of a popular routine of the Green Bay native, and he'd hoped to capitalize on the recent spate of Favre fever following the announcement of the famed footballer's retirement, selling the shirts for gas money, while here in Portland.  Despite his lousy welcome, the jovial Mortensen bears Portland no ill will, and plans to return to next year's Bridgetown, with more t-shirts.  In the meanwhile, keep your eyes peeled for "Gay for Favre" -clad suspects!
