Generally, bartenders do not get to select their coworkers. And I consider this type of coworker to be especially retarded: People who don't drive who take jobs that are waaay far away. They always live near plenty of other bars where they can easily find work and walk or ride their bike to, yet they accept jobs that are 2 towns away or more. "I'll take the bus!" you say. Problem is, most bars close after 1:30 a.m., when busses stop running. Which leaves the non-driver in a bit of a pickle. Taxi's, when they show up, are awfully expensive night after night. Non-drivers much prefer bumming rides from people. Here's where they become assholes. Now the coworkers are either subject to the non-driver's impatient friends ("I can't finish my cleanup, my friend is gonna leave without me!" Honk! Honk!), or, more often, are hit up for rides. The fact that they live in the exact opposite direction is never a concern. Neither is the fact that coworker is tired and just wants to go home instead of driving all over BFE in the middle of the night. If coworker says no, then they are heartless, selfish shitheads who leave you stranded and in danger. If coworker says yes, they get put on your sucker list. Once one ride is granted, a ride is expected every night. Hey, Fucktard; putting your coworkers on the spot is shitty. You are an adult and getting to and from work is not their problem, it's yours. If you live in Gresham do not take a swing shift in Sellwood. Duh! If driving isn't possible, either get a job you can bike to, or work day shifts. Don't make your transportation an issue for your coworkers night in and night out. It's your own fault you don't drive, and no one else's. Loser.
