I made an earlier post about how the Concordia neighborhood sucks for bars. In response to this lament, someone named Foxey commented in that post how I should pay a visit to Mash Tun. I went there tonight, and as it turns out....Polar fucking fleece! Attacking with a brutal salvo of micro brewery hats from their armored Subarus like their Arctic cousins, the polar fucking fleece cyber-warlord-bear. Okay, I'm not a beer idiot, I'm a whiskey dick. Beer idiots annoy me more than wine 'tards. Whiskey dicks are the best.

Anyway, I had a small Falafel sandwich and some shitty fries and a beer then went about my way to McPeet's in the adjacent Beaumont neighborhood. Or is that Alameda? Fuck, it's all so close.

McPeet's is what I want in a bar, with the small exception that it isn't within ten minutes walking distance. Edella, our most prolific reviewer called it to my attention that McPeet's wasn't listed.

Aaron the bartender/cook was really cool, and I felt a sudden wave of satisfaction just from being there. We talked about $2.50 rails in Wisconsin, and I started thinking "Man if Wisconsin coke is as good as their weed, well then I'd rather get really high from eating too much chee."
