Earlier in the month the Tribune reported that Nick's Coney Island was for sale, which inspired one blogger to lament both the loss this particular establishment as well as the loss of blue collarness in SE Portland. Perk up buddy, rumor has it the new owner of Nick's Coney Island will be doing the following.

1. Allowing smoking (Keeps soft handed cybabies out)
2. Serving shots of booze.
3. Serving shots of booze.
4. Serving shots of booze.
5. Allowing smoking.
   
6. NOT serving cocktails. That's right, no fucking mojitos
7. Serving shots of booze.
8. Serving shots of booze.
9. Serving shots of booze.
10. Allowing smoking.
11. And most importantly: Leaving the decor, memorabilia, and layout relatively untouched

Considering the rash of shiny new establishments trying their limp wristed hand at blue collar chic that have sprouted up in our fair community, the notion that someone, god forbid, recognizes the need to not change anything is quite comforting.
