Places to Watch the Ducks in the BCS

Not being a football fan at all, I had no idea this was coming up. But, my lack of American manliness should not get in the way of your good time.

Here are what some of the bars are doing for the BCS:

Bossanova -  One of the few times you will not have to pay to get into this cavernous SE venue. The game will be shown on a huge ass screen. and the beers will be around $3, $3.50. You might even catch myself or Julian from PDXpipeline there as well.

East Burn - Enjoy the game with your pack of smokes (They are showing the game on the patio!) and sip some $2 PBRs.

Gators Bar
$1.50 Duck Farts, $2 Jager Bombs, $1 Beaver Burgers & Duck Dogs

Spirit of '77 has a huge screen, but I'm not sure if they are showing it. Considering the entire hoops theme, is that sacrilege?

Also, Belmont Sledgehammer has many suggestions in the comments below.

I was gonna try to pull my football loving ass out of hibernation to write something relating to game watching venues for tomorrow night. But really, it comes down to what kinda crap you're into, and these "big game" environments always seem to devolve into amateur night at the bar (not unlike New Years Eve & Super Bowl Sunday, other spectacles which I've elected to avoid altogether more than once.)

Though you can probably head out just about any place with a television to at least watch the game and take in some ordinarily unavailable drink and/or food specials.

Or you could head out to Claudia's or the Macadam Sports Bar if you want to hang out with the likes of my idiotic cubicle dwelling co-worker whom I'd long been under the impression was brain-dead & comatose, save for periodic and spasmodic assertions of her die-hard college football allegiances, both vocal and displayed garishly across her workspace and person. Gosh, she's an idiot. These venues will also likely afford you the best opportunity to get interviewed on KGW News amongst a bunch of other rowdy rabble-rousers for the 11:00 segment. Be sure to wear face paint!

Inasmuch as it's worth, I'll probably head over to Hannigan's Tavern for something called a "horse-shoe" that they're apparently offering on special, but mostly just to watch a hopefully decent football game amongst a relatively mellow and fun-loving crowd. Um, allright, Go Ducks!

My 1 cent worth anyway.
