Are the best celebrities we have to offer those that point to low pressure systems on the blue screen and others that hawk used Hondas? I never really considered how lacking we are for quality celebrities here in Portland until I read a thread (here) on the service industry forum Shameless Restaurants about the tipping habits of some of our favorite local celebrities. The usual suspects are there: Scottie Pippen, Courtney Courtney Taylor, and of course, the shiny award winning Ron Tonkin, of Ron Tonkin motors.
Other names mentioned include Art Alexakis who was placed on the "good" list and Chat Carter of Good Day Oregon was listed as a stiffer. Scottie Pippen seems to be nothing short of cheap, earning him the moniker "No Tippin' Pippen", and Mr. Taylor Taylor is portrayed as a self absorbed prick. Really the only thing surprising about any of those names was the notion of who is and isn't a celebrity? A weatherman and a car dealer? Are local celebrity obsessed residents gossiping about who they banged and the prodigious amount of cocaine they are able to consume, while spreading rumors that Bruce Sussman had a gerbil stuck in his butt and a his stomach pumped after blowing Chuck Freakin' Palaniuk in the bathroom at Voodoo Doughnuts?
There is some good stuff in the thread, but there HAS to be be far better. Come on, tell your stories, industry folks.

I have a friend who works downtown in Portland he says that Vera Katz stiffed him 2 different times on 500$ tabs! But she is no longer so oh well.
CHAD CARTER of Good Day oregon's bio....lol....In his free time you can often find Chad heading out for a bike ride on Portland's miles of great trails. He also likes to hit the slopes, or when feeling charitable, donates a few golf balls to area courses. After being active for mere seconds, you can typically find him eating out at many of Portland's restaurants.
Jeff Gianola shows up at Sewickly's for my pub quizzes every Tuesday night, gets tanked, calls everyone bitches, and shouts "Do you know who I am?!?!" every time he gets a correct answer. Also, consuming a veritable cold front with each drink, Bruce Sussman ALWAYS orders extra ice with his beverages. I myself am only a K-List Portland celebrity (bumped up from the Q-List after becoming a "Best of Portland" pick for my trivia jockey-hood: http://www.wweek.com/editorial/3337/9275/), and will only associate with other celebs who are L-List or higher.
