The Matador vs. Casa de Matador

According to murmurs on local Portland foodie boards, a new restaurant/tequila bar has opened on NW 23rd called Casa del Matador. I'm preparing myself for the inevitable: Teaming hordes of clueless dipshits lacking the mental ability to successfully navigate the alphabet blocks will stumble into Portland's real Matador on NW Burnside and 20th. Despite their utter confusion, the will still sit down amongst the presence of offending odors of smoke, unwashed hipsters, and crusty BarFlies, all the while murmuring "but the food is supposed to be terrific and the house cocktail resplendienteinaeradnferough!". They'll ask where the table service is while attempting to order a specialty Margarita cocktail and appetizers. Finally, totally disatisfied with their night, they will go home get on our listing for the Casa del Matador to bitch about how terrible it is, how rude the service was, and how they will never go back. Meanwhile, Casa del Matador will send us legal threats heavily laden with mis-used verbage about libel and slander and I'll have to pull out everything I learned from watching legal dramas and righteously school them.

**Edit**

I also just noticed via AltPortland that Pirate's Tavern closed up shop. Whowouldathunkit?
