Vegan Pirate Bar

The SearchCommander recently made a recent post on his blog regarding a google experiment involving two things I abhor into one bar that I'm guaranteed to hate. In the past, I've asserted that pirates suck and I'd rather drink bacon grease than smugly congratulate myself for my moral suepriority, so you can imagine just how excited I would be to visit http://www.veganpiratebar.com. Only it's not a real place.

But I was curious about his challenge so I googled vegan pirate bar, I did indeed discover a real one, right here in NW Portland. Only it's known as the Pirate Tavern and it has a creepy website that is part videogamer/part scifi geek/part. Why don't people tell me when these places open up? We're supposed to be an authority on the matter, damnit.

Yeah, that's a common theme around here. I've gotta troll the Merc for new listings. Somehow the PR wheels forget that little old BarFly still sort of exists. That, or they just don't tell me.

Being a Vegan MEself I must go check it out! Although that Good Day Oregon, bit on their website was a bit CHEESY for me!

With you being a vegan and all, I'd assume that everything cheesy was a bit too cheesy for ya. ;)

Sounds like such a typical quirky Portland mashup, I can't imagine it not working, even when the novelty wears off.
