The Amazon: "Deliverence in Portland"

Previous to just a few short months ago, I had no Idea that the movie "Deliverance" existed, although I had heard references to it all the time.  When said reference was mentioned, this was my cue to laugh and look like I knew what they were talking about.  Now, this normally isn't my way-ain't no shame in my game.  I am constantly asking what this and that is, and what this word means, and who wrote such and such.  (These questions  are usually directed at Shannon and Kyle, who answer my every question with no hesitation).  But in the case of "Deliverance" I felt especially stupid, like I should really know this one.  I happened to catch the tail end (quite literally, the rape scene), and was intrigued.  Do people like this really exist?

Enter Amazon.  Amazon is located on Couch, China town.  At first I thought it could be something-initially.  The decor is interesting, complete with a little foot bridge and log benches.  (Doug Fir would be jealous).  Instantly we were bombarded by people telling us this is the worst bar, and not to come here.  You could tell they were regulars, and mighty proud of their establishment.  Between the street people carrying paks and bikes, to the old drug addicted regulars, I could hardly drink my drink with all the distraction.  Kyle and I seemed to be the only normal ones.  And that my friend, is scary because anybody who knows kyle is distinctly aware that he is not normal.  The happy hour goes on foreva' though.  I can't say we will be going back as the "dar & dude quotient" leaves little to be desired about this place.

I should have known somthing was fishy when I went to use the restroom and you had to have a key.  Kinda like a shitty gas station, but in a bar.

Homegirl - an inquisitive mind is a sign of intelligence! Keep asking away. And now, when we float the river this year, you can pretend that we're on the Chattooga, too. If you really want to. Kyle will want to be Burt Reynolds, I'll be the kid with the banjo, and Peg can be Ned Beatty.
