Wandering Barfly - Panama part 1 - Mondo Taitu

This bar was across the street from where I stayed in Bocas del Toro - a gorgeous archipelago in the Caribbean by the border of Costa Rica. Twas the loudest bar in town, but thankfully I was out each night, so it never kept me awake. The first night at Mondo Taitu was "Martini Night" $2 "Martinis" such as "Kiwitini" "Melontini" "Blutini" that were listed on a chalkboard, but none of the bartenders knew how to make. After the failed attempt at cheap cocktails, we decided upon beer. $1 bottle of Panama Lager. Some of the worst beer ever, but at least it was semi-cold. The next day was apparently 80's night - 1 snippet of a song per minute. It seems that with each painfully long 1 minute song, the crowd was supposed to take a shot. (I'm surprised the tenders knew how to make them!) I wasn't here that night, but heard the music and screaming "DRINK!!!!!!!!!!!" for a few hours before heading out. Went back about 2 days later to find all of the same americans/canadians smoking apple flavored shisha, seemingly wasted as well. Fun bar if you'd like to be surrounded by trustfund gringos. I think their playlist was the same every night..
