So, in the first post I wrote on surfing the Video Lottery in Oregon, I told you that I'd let you in on a secret, and that it had to do with the lie that the Video Lottery is a purely random system. That is to say, the state of Oregon tells us that the video lottery machines win or lose based on a wondrous system in which calculating machines (ie. computers), calculate a complex system of randomness, to ensure that the games are "fair" and "based on luck."

Well, it just does not seem to be accurate. Or, if it is accurate, there is much more pattern in randomness than I ever knew, which is kind of trippy.  My reasoning is thusly:

1. The different games have their winnng and losing seasons
2. The different locations have their own winning and losing streaks
3. Anybody that plays (ie. loses all their frickin' money) regularly knows this. You walk up to a machine and ask the person next to you, "How are the machines today?" and the person next to youy will say, "Not good." or "I'm doing great!"
   
4. Bartenders know, too. If you ask, they will tell you, in vague terms, that the machines haven't been paying at all, or "Yeah, everyone's doing well tonight!"
   
5. Some bartenders have noticed an even more specific pattern of which days of the month people do well on.
6. The period leading into a holiday is winning time. but then you have a few days off of work, and want to pay, I mean play, some more, but the machines stop paying out as soon as the actual holiday hits. 

All of this is too obvious, and too much common knowledge to be coincidence.
