Like a generation of Manchurian Candidates, the youth of today seem to have suddenly discovered video poker. Everytime I go out to play the video poker machines (and by "play" I mean lose all the money I have in the world), there are more youngsters filling up the machines. In the last week, I've seen more of the under-27 set playing veepee than ever before. There were more youngsters playing than old folks, which is just mind-blowing.

What can I tell you kids to get you to stop? Sure, it's fun for a while. but you might become one of us - the ones with a weakness for compulsive, self-destructive risk-taking behavior. 

Yesterday I sat next to a toothless woman with long gray hair, hitting that button and watching the pretty lights go round and round. Some day I will be her, and you kids will be me, and so on and so on.

Well, try not to make a habit of it, ok?
